How we farm
- One species. We grow only Aloe barbadensis Miller. We do not grow Aloe ferox. Why that matters.
- Certified organic. Our crop is certified under EU organic rules and the USDA National Organic Program, both through Ecocert SAS. Certificates.
- Organic inputs only. Only certified organic fertiliser. No synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides or germicides.
- Good Agricultural Practices. Our farming follows G.A.P. principles to reduce environmental impact and protect our workers.
- Hand harvest. Each leaf is selected and cut by hand.
How we process
Cut leaves go to the processing plant on the farm and are processed within a few hours of harvest, on Dutch-engineered machinery. From there we produce liquids, concentrate, spray-dried powder, inner leaf dice and pulp, and dried rind. The rind that remains after inner leaf processing is sun-dried for feed use.
